The cover art certainly won my girlish heart. Zacharel is her only hope for survival, but is the brutal angel with a touch as hot as hell her salvation–or her ultimate damnation? Demons track her every move, and their king will stop at nothing to have her. It will take the help of at least two hairdressers and many hours to create Georgiana's sensational hairdo, and yet, notes Amanda Foreman in her riveting biography, Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire (Modern Library, $15.95), soon after this fateful night, "women competed with each other to construct the tallest head, ignoring the fact that it made quick movements impossible, and the only way to ride in a carriage was to sit on the floor."Įnvied, imitated, and always observed, Georgiana was as famous as her great-great-great-great niece, Lady Diana Spencer, would be. She has just thought of the idea of making tiny wooden ships to adorn her horsehair wig, and has called to her servants. It is 1775, and she has fashioned a three-foot tower on her head, using scented pomade to affix pads of horsehair on top of her own hair. Imagine Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire, preparing for a night out on the town. 5/19/2023 0 Comments Netflix northanger abbeyThe period drama Pride and Prejudice brings Jane Austen’s magnificent world to life with its passion, wit and raw emotion. Especially how she displays her excellent nursing and housekeeping skills during the Plague when she nurses Bruce back to health (and he in return). I truly had to put my personal feelings aside for Amber as her true character emerges: self-absorbed, greedy, and shallow. It is riveting as the reader follows Amber as a young 16 year old girl to her mid-twenties. I couldn't help likening the story between "Fatal Attraction" and "Dangerous Liasons". When I found out that this classic was once a 'banned' book for it's explicit sexual content well.I thought it must be REALLY good! Despite the fact that the book is 900+ pages it is an excellent period piece set in 1660's London. 5/19/2023 0 Comments The white tiger book authorIn the end, Balram must decide whether to continue on his path of deceit and crime or to finally do the right thing.
